The Product Development Principal Scientist will be responsible for hands-on development of new cookie innovations from bench to pilot to commercial scale-up. This role reports to the R&D Director and will partner with marketing and other cross-functional partners to ideate, design, develop and launch new cookie product innovations, and provide brand support as needed for established products. Seeking creative, self-starter with the ability to approach projects, business initiatives and opportunities with a fresh and positive perspective. Food Science or Engineering degree along with 12+ years in the packaged food industry with some or all in baked goods, (i.e. cookies, crackers, bars, along with prior commercialization/ industrialization experience. Specific working knowledge of food industry standards and plant utility systems along with development of unit operations such as those in the meat (meat processing/grinding/patty forming) and dairy industries and small capital project experience required. He/She will lead an organization of food scientists, process chemists/engineers, ingredient developers and technical service experts.
