Market leading company in the business of coloring foods is seeking an Agricultural Engineer to fill a newly created position in their US division. Candidate will be responsible for working closely with the Global Agronomy Team to provide in-depth knowledge of local farming policies, procedures, and regulations, establishing means to improve productivity/sustainability of field crops, designing/creating/supporting structures for warehousing/supplies/machinery, working with farmers, consultants, agricultural professionals and food scientists to improve ways of farming specialty crops throughout the supply chain. Must have a BS in Agricultural Engineering or Agricultural Science (MS preferred) along with 7years of prior experience working in an agricultural farming operation. Basic understanding of farming regulations and USDA standards including H-2A temporary agricultural workers programs. Additional experience to include planting/fertilizing/harvesting plants, operating & maintaining farming equipment, and managing a team of farmworkers. Ideal candidate will be proficient in Spanish. Candidate must have a minimum BS in Microbiology, Food Science, Toxicology or related field (MS preferred) with 7+ years of experience working for a Trade Organization or Government Agency (FDA, USDA, EPAP). Demonstrated technical knowledge in Food Safety is a must with knowledge of toxicological processes and/or nutrition desirable.
